Global News First Look: FireBozz Innovation in 2015
In 2015, Global News featured FireBozz as a new Canadian wildfire suppression technology being developed in Nanaimo, BC. It was our first time on national television — and the beginning of a much bigger journey.
“A made-in-Canada solution with a spray radius of more than 300 feet,” the reporter said.
Fire crews were watching with curiosity. Some were already thinking: Could this actually work?
At the time, FireBozz was still in its earliest stages. We were focused on:
-
Proving the science behind rapid wildfire suppression
-
Getting our first demos in front of municipalities and contractors
-
Listening to crews in the field and learning from them
🌱 Humble Beginnings
We didn’t yet have formal deployments. We weren’t in big-box catalogs. But we had something just as powerful — belief in the idea.
Seeing our first prototype featured by Global News gave our small team confidence to keep pushing. This wasn’t just a passion project. It was a solution with real potential.
🔥 Fast Forward to Now
Since that first broadcast:
-
FireBozz has been deployed across North America
-
We’ve been featured on CTV News, Daily Hive, and ChekTV
-
Trusted by contractors, fire departments, and local governments
-
Partnered with Camosun College for applied innovation
We’ve come a long way. But we haven’t forgotten where we started.
