FireBozz wildfire suppression units ready for deployment in northern Manitoba

🔥 City of Thompson Prepares for Wildfire Season with FireBozz Units

As wildfire season intensifies across Canada, the City of Thompson, Manitoba, has taken decisive steps to protect its residents and critical infrastructure. With fast-moving fires threatening nearby communities and dry conditions worsening, Thompson will acquired six FireBozz wildfire suppression units as part of its emergency readiness -- likely to be used if fire conditions directly threaten the city.

🔥 Why this matters:
On July 14, 2025, provincial officials acknowledged that a fire near Thompson had reached a “critical” state. While air tankers and helicopters were deployed, ground-level defense remains a crucial gap. FireBozz units, which operate on the principle of fast, large-volume water projection, wide-area defence, and quick set up, are designed to fill that exact gap—protecting assets, roadways, and neighborhoods easily and in very cost-efficient manner.

Urgency Across the North

The wildfire threat in Canada continues to worsen. As of mid-July, multiple provinces are experiencing significant evacuations. According to the Canadian Interagency Forest Fire Centre (CIFFC), over 2,000 wildfires have already burned millions of hectares this year, with Manitoba's northern communities under some of the highest alerts. The fire approaching Thompson, which reached within 3 km of key infrastructure earlier this month, forced several highway closures and heightened emergency preparedness.

What Is FireBozz?

FireBozz is a Canadian-made, high-output wildfire suppression system designed for rapid deployment. Using standard 1.5" fire hoses and pump systems, FireBozz units can:

  • Deliver 300–500 feet of water coverage in a radial spray pattern

  • Operate autonomously for over an hour

  • Provide defensible perimeters around homes, substations, water treatment facilities, and entire neighbourhoods and city blocks.

🔧 Local crews can deploy in under 15 minutes.
FireBozz has already been adopted by national parks, First Nations, municipalities, mine operators and over 300 Fire Departments across Canada and the U.S.
